Free Symphony Tickets Available

The wide variety of visual and performing art programs happening on our campus provide learning, enjoyment and insight into diverse cultures. Taking advantage of these offerings can add a rich dimension to your liberal arts education. We have one such opportunity coming up on Sat. March 31, 2012 at 8pm when the Illinois Symphony Orchestra will perform “Brilliant & Beautiful” in the Sangamon Auditorium.

Here are details about the performance.

Guest Conductor: Andrew Sewell

Guest Artist: Vadim Gluzman, Violin

Brilliant and beautiful sounds fill the air with Berlioz’s swashbuckling Le Corsaire Overture, the radiant beauty and intimacy of Brahms Violin Concerto featuring violin virtuoso Vadim Gluzman, and the brilliant masterpiece of the young Dmitri Shostakovich, his First Symphony.

We have 20 free tickets, compliments of the Illinois Symphony Orchestra, which will be allotted on a first come first serve basis to students who email me at mnoll1@uis.edu to request a ticket.
