Hi all, We’re experiencing an issue with all of our WebTools portlets – none of these are rendering in any of the campus portals.

Hi all, I have little more information on this, but unfortunately no resolution yet.
The problem has occurred due to changes in the WebTools servers hosted by CITES. This change by CITES requires changes to the java settings on our tomcat servers for the portals. We have run into problems in our test environments trying to make this new configuration work. We are actively working on the problem. I will update you as I get more information.
We did not have notification of this change – my apologies to all involved for not being aware of this change in advance of this outage and I take full responsibility. I will work to get better lines of communication open about these systems that have potential downstream impacts.

Hi all, So all webtools portlets appear to be working again now.
After many unsuccessful attempts, we were unable to make the necessary changes to our servers to accommodate the CITES changes. CITES has now rolled back their changes for WebTools, and will postpone this till next Wednesday.
We will be setting up our test environments so we can get this working in test so we will be ready for this change next week. I’ll send along more information as we get this properly prepared for and working in test.
