The DigiCert *.uis.edu certificate that is used on webmail.uis.edu (and most Exchange services) was set to expire on January 8th. It has been replaced with a new certificate from InCommon.
Webmail.uis.edu was unavailable for approximately 30 seconds as the certificates were reconfigured.

The four EqualLogic SAN boxes were updated to the most current firmware this morning. Momentary disruption may have occurred in some systems as the boxes failed over to their secondary controllers during the update.
All systems are reporting up and running status at this time.

On the morning of December 28, 2012, the EqualLogic SAN will be upgraded to the to latest firmware version (6.0.2) as part of EqualLogic’s quarterly maintenance release cycle. This release includes maintenance fixes for enhanced stability and performance of the EqualLogic SAN.
This upgrade should not effect users or systems hosted on the SAN.
Because of the holiday break, I will need to complete payroll before I leave on Friday, December 21st. Please make sure you check the timelines below and have your online and paper timesheets (if applicable) completed before you leave campus for break.

Ongoing Cisco IP phone issues
We are scheduling time with Cisco TAC for Dec 27 to work on the subscriber server. There are hardware test that TAC wants us to preform which will require restarting the server and doing this will affect the end user phones. This day should allow us opportunity to restart the server several times with limited impact on the end users.

Upgrade to wireless controllers
December 27 Kevin will be upgrading the software for the wireless controllers in each of the two WISM blades. He estimates this taking half a day; we plan to notify the campus of potential wireless interruptions during the upgrade.
