Cisco IP phone upgrade

The process is almost complete.  We believe we have all the licenses and software necessary to complete the upgrade, we will be moving voice service to the new VMware Cisco Unified Communication Manager 9.1.2 server this morning.  We will monitor the interaction with the voice gateways and other peripherals such as Cisco Emergency Responder, informacast and ARC Attendant Console to mention a few.  Once we are comfortable with CUCM’s operations we will begin the upgrade for CER.

Active Directory Update

As announced in a previous change management request:

This morning at 9:30am we will be raising the UIS Active Directory forest from the 2003 functional level to the 2008 R2 functional level.

For the curious, information on the different functional levels can be obtained here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/understanding-active-directory-functional-levels(v=ws.10).aspx

VCenter Upgrade

Update: Vcenter is back functioning but I was not able to update it to the newest c patch so we went back.

I will be upgrading Vcenter  today so you will not be able to login to Vcenter until it is complete. You can still remote into the individual servers.

Thank you,

Shellie

Thanks so much, Bill, for all of your help with my computer problems!   Everything is working well now – and I’m so pleased not to be worrying about the old computer crashing J  I really appreciate all of your time and effort.

Best,

Lynn

Kudos to TSC!

A big THANKS to everyone involved in resolving this problem for Bud!

I cannot express my complete satisfaction with the rapid response, knowledgeable and friendly service of the tech support team.  This was a case where my monitors died in the midst of an extremely important job.  It was 3:20 pm on Tuesday.  Your team examined the pc and determined that the video card was good.  They returned the computer to my office early on Wednesday, found that the “Y” connector was faulty, and one of the monitors was dead.  I know that multiple symptom problems with a common result are very difficult to diagnose.

The PAA Dean’s Office happened to have a spare monitor in a closet.  My supervisor, Assistant to the Dean, Wendy Johnson, delivered that monitor to my office.  End result, I was up and running by 9:15 am.  HOW GREAT IS THAT!  Well, it is fantastic.

Thanks once again and I want everyone to know that you people are appreciated!

Kudos to Josh

Josh,

Thank you for all of your assistance on today. After I called for instructions, you went above and beyond and made a personal visit to my office to download and place the Xythos drive on my computer. I truly appreciated you making the effort and taking the time. Thank you again!
