Exchange Maintenance

Just a reminder, we plan to apply Exchange 2010 SP3 Update Rollup 4 first thing tomorrow (12/18/13) morning. This will fix the issue with IE11 not working well with webmail.uis.edu, among many other bug fixes. All Exchange servers will be rebooted one by one as we apply the update.

Users should notice no impact, especially if they have their Outlook clients set to use cached mode.

Network Switch work on Dec 26, 2013

****************************************************************************************************************************

Dec 26,2013 beginning at 12:10pm ITS network staff will be doing maintenance and upgrades on the primary and secondary routing switches this work requires that both switches be down.  These two switches route all the data traffic into and off campus.   Beginning at 12:10pm until we complete the project (possibly as long as 7 hours) you will not be able to connect to the UIS Campus network this includes the UIS home page.  We will post to the ITS Blog as soon as the switches are up and working.

Just a reminder,

GRADES ARE DUE BY NOON Dec 26, 2013

Access to and from the UIS campus network will be down beginning 12:10 December 26, 2013.  Grades are due at noon using the Faculty Self-Service (http://apps.uillinois.edu)

Box Signup Service Maintenance – December 10

On the morning of Tuesday, Dec 10, the U of I Box signup service hosted at box-signup.uillinois.edu will be offline for service maintenance to install an updated version that supports recent OAuth and API changes at Box. This outage will start at 7am, and is expected to last no longer than an hour. This work involves no interface changes, so after the upgrade the service will work and appear exactly as it does today.

This only impacts users attempting to enroll for the U of I Box Service.

CUCM upgrade

The new CCM servers are up and running with version 9.1.2, and the phones work.

Phones reconfigured to talk with the new CUCM and upgraded with new ios

The old 7940 phones did not have an upgrade

DNS entries corrected for both CUCM boxes.

DHCP Scopes all change (phones would not have configured without this)

Informacast is registered with CCM but is not discovering the phones.   JTAPI issue?

Attendant Console looks to be registered we need to test on Monday

Routers working as expected

All but ~20 phones have re-registered those will need to be addressed on Monday

CER is having a strange licensing issue, we have a TAC open and will reconnect with the engineer in the morning

Exchange and Lync seem to be working properly

All in all a lot accomplished in one evening

Big thanks to Kevin and Nelson.

Cisco Unified Communications Manager Upgrade switch over

Just a reminder we will be switching to the newest version of CUCM later this evening after 5:00 when most staff and faculty have left campus.  We will be testing the new servers with 2 of the 5 ISDN PRI trunks so we don’t disrupt the campus traffic not involved with the test.  I will post the results of this evenings test to the blog.
