FYI

Addition:

The impact of this will be that while clients can update their EAS password with the link provided, the UIS NetID password and EnterpriseID password won’t be kept in sync until the fix goes in tomorrow.

UIS ITS Help Desk:

EAS 4.1 went live this morning. I want to bring to your attention one fairly significant issue that has been uncovered during production readiness testing.

The “Reset Password” functionality accessed via the “Enterprise” link on the www.uis.edu page is not working correctly.

<>

We are hoping to have a fix in place tomorrow. In the interim, please direct callers to https://eas.admin.uillinois.edu/eas/servlet/EasBluestemReset to reset their password.

I will keep you apprised of developments.

Thanks,

Suzanne

my.UIS Portal Login Issues

This weekend the my.UIS Portal was moved to authenticate against the new Windows 2008 domain controllers. Everyone that we tested could login. Tulio seems to be the only one that can’t login at this time, at least the only one that we can find.

Could everyone please test to see if you can login, and let me know, either here or in an e-mail. Anyway that we can trace who can login and can’t would be great.

Thanks!

WordPress Server and UISAPPSRVPROD2

Friday morning starting at 8:30 Tom and I are physically moving the WordPress server (blogs.uis.edu is hosted on this server) and UISAPPSRVPROD2 to another rack in HSB to prepare for the virtual servers and storage. Downtime should be no more that 1 hour each.

There is also an upgrade to the WordPress software that will be applied after the server is moved, so expect some intermittent downtime with that upgrade.

Post by e-mail

There is a new faster way to post to the ITS blog, you can now post by
e-mail! The address is its-blog@uis.edu, you can only send to this
e-mail if you are in the ‘UIS ITS Staff’ or ‘UIS ITS Student Worker and
GA DL’ groups in Active Directory.

I have found that the best way to send is if you set your mail client to
send as plain text, however you should be able to send it as HTML. It
will add attachments to the post automatically.
