The issue with bb.uis,.edu redirecting to to http://blogs.uis.edu/itstatus/ has cleared, but the underlying reason why is still being investigated by Blackboard Support.

I’m going to schedule a job that bounces the app servers (UISappsrvprod1 and UISappsrvprod2) – on Thursday mornings (to help address an issue that arose recently with a hung trust).

Since its expected that servers will be bounced during this window – i.e. the regularly scheduled mtce window, a SICM is not needed (just the notification).

The UISmysql1 has been upgraded to RHEL 6.4, and it’s avaialble for use.

The development server is still in the process of being upgraded.

Internet Explorer 10 is causing usability problems with CA Service Desk (in fact IE 10 is not blessed for usage with CA SDM).

Banner also has issues from what I hear.  A lot of folks are on IE 10 by now, since Microsoft performs an automatic upgrade (e.g. Clevenger is on IE 10).

Firefox is supposed to be one workaround, the Help Desk has had success reverting back to IE 9 (others have had to re-install the OS if they reverted back).

The last 2 announcments of today’s Campus Announcements error when selected.

Looking at the CampusEvents mailbox (the account receiving the email announcement), these 2 announcements are not present (hence the error), but they were at one time – or they wouldn’t have been in the Campus Announcement email distribution.

The 2 announcements in question are:

• UIS in the News  Schnapp, Derek       (5/1/2013 8:52:55 AM)
• REQUIREMENTS – immunization records  Tait, Linda J (5/1/2013  8:53:31 AM)

The Campus Announcements were sent two times this morning – the second instance being to invoked as a successful test of a new error logging capability, as well as increasing the number of retries.

Blackboard is experiencing issues with respect to enrollment add-drops due to an API functionality change they made.

ITS is investigating and more information will be posted as it becomes available.

Inbound mail is backed up – the cause is currently being investigated.

Campus Announcements send job is failing intermittently due to a connection error.  Subsequent attempts (later in the day) at sending the announcements (running the job) out usually work.
