Blackboard Discussion Boards Are Working

The Discussion Board is now working from off-campus. All features of Blackboard are fully functional both on and off campus.

Blackboard Discussion Board Not Working Off-Campus

We are currently experiencing issues with the Blackboard Discussion Board.  It works on campus and on mobile devices.  It does NOT work off-campus, even when accessed through the VPN or Citrix.  We are working with Blackboard to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.

Maintenance and Upgrades During Spring Break

ITS will be taking advantage of Spring Break to perform maintenance and upgrades on many of our servers. These upgrades improve the reliability and functionality of our applications and services.

We do not anticipate that our work will impact your work. We just want to make you aware of our plans and make sure you know how to reach us in case you have any problems.

Wednesday, March 19: We will be upgrading most of our servers on this day. However, the servers will remain up and running during the upgrades so you should not see any disruption of service.

We will also be upgrading our email server. You may see an error message in Outlook. If so, please close Outlook and reopen it. If you continue to have problems, please contact ITS Client Services ( or 206-6000).

Thursday, March 20: These upgrades apply only to the virtual servers used by the Computer Science department (faculty and students). During the upgrade (9am-3pm) all Computer Science virtual servers will be unavailable. After 3pm, service will be restored. No data will be lost during the downtime.

With the exception of the Computer Science department on Thursday, March 20, you should not experience any issues. If you do, please contact ITS Client Services at or 206-6000.

Banner Maintenance Extended Until 11pm – Feb 9

The Banner maintenance scheduled for today (Feb 9, 2014) has been extended until 11pm. This affects all users trying to log into Banner services, including resetting passwords and the my.UIS portal.
