Two UIS faculty have been called upon to advise various local entities on economic policy to improve our region.

Bruce Sommer, instructor of entrepreneurship, was appointed the Director of Economic Development and Innovation for the University of Illinois Springfield, as reported in the State Journal-Register (http://www.sj-r.com/news/20181020/local-business-notes-adams-family-to-collaborate-in-hosting-events). His role at the university is to help connect students and faculty with the community to promote business growth and social innovation.
