Summer Goals: Community Service

Yesterday we talked about summer goals and plans. Most UIS students participate in some kind of community service during their college years. Service is often an extension of the UIS classroom.
As you may know, UIS offers a wide range of community service opportunities to students, from Alternative Spring Break projects to tutoring in our local schools and more.

Adding community service to your summer goals list can boost your resume and bring feelings of reward and heighten your awareness. If you are involved in community service this summer, I would love to hear about it (mnoll1@uis.edu or comment to this post). The Volunteer and Civic Engagement Center of UIS exists to connect students, faculty, and staff to community partners by providing quality civic engagement and volunteer opportunities that further our social good. They are here this summer if you need help finding the right service opportunity for you.
