Yesterday evening at about 5:00 PM, What’s Up Gold began reporting problems with several servers. Some were shown as completely down (could not ping) while others has only some monitored portions (such as fans and temperatures) down. Brian T. and I each worked on it (each of us was unaware the other was actively troubleshooting at the same time); I restarted the SNMP service and Brian restarted the WUG monitoring service. One or both of these things seemed to fix it; we’re not sure which.

As far as we know, all servers were operating normally during this time and there was no interruption of service to the campus.
